UTRECHT, The Netherlands, March 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
15 European Cities Are Competing to Become the Interrail Destination of the Year
With the launch of the Interrail Destination Award, Interrail has introduced its own Travellers' Choice Award in which 15 European cities are currently competing to be crowned the Interrail Destination of the Year 2015. Up until the 18th March, people can vote for their favourite destination and have the chance to win an Interrail Pass.
Being the symbol for unlimited travel across Europe, Interrail has selected 15 European cities to run for the title Interrail Destination of the Year 2015. The shortlisted cities were determined based on thousands of reviews and opinions of Interrailers across Europe taking into account their attractiveness and high value for money for travellers. With the Destination Award, Interrail hopes to inspire travellers to further explore the variety that Europe has to offer. "This campaign provides an exciting platform for travellers across the continent to share their enthusiasm for, and memories of cities that may be less known to others", explains Silvia Görlach, Marketing and Sales Manager of the Eurail Group G.I.E.
For this reason, the shortlist includes a diverse mix of unique cities from all across the European continent: the lively southern cities of Thessaloniki and Bologna, the fascinating German cities of Leipzig and Heidelberg and the picturesque Central European capitals Ljubljana and Zagreb. Furthermore, the charming Iberian cities of Valencia, Lisbon and Porto were selected along with the alpine treasures Graz and Zurich. Last but not least the historic city of York, Norway´s exciting capital Oslo, the city of architecture Rotterdam and the culinary city of Antwerp are shortlisted. Please visit Interrail's official Facebook page or http://vote.interrail.eu for additional information about each of the shortlisted destinations and the possibility to vote.
Interrail Passes are sold by the local European railways and at http://www.Interrail.eu.
