IOSH Announces Details of its Two-day 2015 Conference Programme
LONDON, February 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) has unveiled the programme for its 2015 annual conference, focused on Leadership in action. Shaping the future of occupational safety and health.
Following the success of last year's conference which was focused on inspiring leadership, IOSH 2015 will further pursue the important theme when it is held at ExCeL London on 16-17 June alongside the Safety & Health Expo.
Directly tackling how to recognise leadership, demonstrate it and develop it, the conference will feature case studies showcasing exceptional leadership and examples of where it's had a profound impact. Expert speakers and representatives from global and UK organisations, from a wide range of sectors, will share their insights, achievements and experience and help attendees develop their own successes.
IOSH Chief Executive, Jan Chmiel, said:
"Understanding the role of occupational safety and health in creating a healthy sustainable working world has never been more important as more and more organisations recognise the value of investment in OSH as a key component in delivering long term business resilience. It's IOSH's ability to focus on providing clarity, business value and positive results through the people who make up this profession that helps to deliver that value and makes IOSH 2015 a 'must attend' event for senior executives and aspiring executives alike."
"Delivering a myriad of opportunities to discuss, develop and learn from acknowledged experts, IOSH 2015 will give delegates tools and ideas to lead the way in building a culture of care that protects business reputations and delivers bankable results by recognising their people are at the heart of their success. Join us for two priceless, unforgettable days and together we will drive up the level of professionalism and leadership across the OSH landscape."
IOSH, the Chartered body for safety and health professionals, has also arranged for its conference to feature high-level plenary sessions coupled with a choice of case studies, presentations and panel discussions from four tracks: leadership in action, beyond compliance, managing global risk and occupational health. They will provide the latest industry updates and opportunity to discuss critical issues in safety and health.
Prevention of low-frequency, high-severity accidents; international safety and health standards; occupational asthma; and managing security, crisis management and CSR in high-risk regions are just some of the topics covered.
Delivered by over 50 internationally renowned speakers, those already confirmed to participate in the two-day programme include Colm Murphy, Global Safety Manager, Diageo, Karl Simons, Head of Health, Safety and Wellbeing, Thames Water, Dr David Fishwick, Chief Medical Officer, Health and Safety Laboratory, Dave Nicholls, Global HSE Manager, Wood Group PSN and Dr Richard Heron, Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, BP, amongst others.
In 2014 the IOSH conference attracted delegates from 31 countries with over 80% of delegates holding senior manager or director roles. Feedback from the event was positive with 92% of surveyed attendees confirming they would recommend the conference to a colleague.
Heather Beach, Brand Director, OSH Global said:
"We are delighted to announce that registration for this critical industry event is now open, we look forward to sharing further plans and future participants in the coming months. We are very much looking forward to returning to ExCeL and welcoming the health and safety industry to London once again."
For the second year the IOSH conference will run alongside the hugely successful Safety & Health Expo (16-18 June). The exhibition is the UK's national event for the safety and health industry and attracted over 15,000 health and safety professionals in 2014.
