ERNSTER customers simply open the Yapital app on their smartphones, scan the QR code on the relevant in-store or external advertising material, and have the latest bestseller delivered directly to their doorstep. Buying via 'Scan2Order' effectively bypasses the check-out queue and gives customers the ability to buy an item within seconds, even after closing time.
As the first Luxembourgish retailer to integrate Yapital's cross-channel payment solution in every store, ERNSTER - l'esprit livre is pioneering new ways to enhance their customers' shopping experience. Fernand Ernster, Director of the family-owned company, comments: "Partnering with Yapital gives us an innovative edge and allows us to take a whole new approach to marketing. The 'Scan2Order' feature closes the gap between wanting a book and actually buying it - it changes the very nature of the in-store shopping experience and turns our display windows into points-of-sale, even out of hours."
Nils Winkler, CEO of Yapital, comments: "ERNSTER - l'esprit livre understands the great potential of mobile payment and I am very pleased that they have decided to premiere the 'Scan2Order' feature here in Luxembourg. As the Christmas shopping season approaches, this feature is a great way to enjoy the excitement of the crowds without enduring the headache of the queues. Point-and-purchase retail is not a thing of the future, it is happening right now."
Winkler continues: "We believe that features such as these will play a crucial role in increasing user adoption of mobile payment solutions, as it both opens up new revenue potential for retailers and offers tangible benefits for consumers. We live in a world where boundaries are disappearing: I see something I like and I want to buy it, immediately. Features such as 'Scan2Order' offer convenience for customers and allow retailers to facilitate impulse buying. It´s a win-win for everybody."
The Yapital Scan2Order campaign at ERNSTER - l'esprit livre runs until November 29th, 2014.
