JAC S5 Officially Launches onto Chinese Market

HEFEI, China, March 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- On March 19, 2013, the first strategic SUV of JAC Motors new passenger car platform -- the JAC S5 -- launched onto the market. The five different models available include the 2.0L Classic Version, 2.0L Luxury Version, 1.8T Classic, 1.8T Exalted Version and Dress 1.8T Flagship Version.

In January 2013, JAC completed the establishment of the third passenger car plant, which covers 698,000 meters square with a 2.18 billion Yuan RMB (305 billion US dollar) total investment. There are numerous advanced technologies and facilities such as a totally enclosed automation press line and the first 2500 ton servo press in the world which is highly effective and automatic. SPM can reach 13 (5-8 general) and the facility also features the first highly adjustable welding line in the country which boasts high speed (51 seconds per unit), high adjustability (4 platforms for 6 car models) and robotized automation (166 robots).

The S5 has an adapted 1.8T turbocharged engine, DOHC, 16 valves, turbo intercooling technology, 120/5200Kw/rpm maximum power and 235/2000-4000Nm/rpm maximum torque allowing for a blazing fast top speed of 181.1 km/h and a 12.8 second 0-100 kilometer per hour acceleration time.

To protect drivers and passengers, the S5 is equipped with TPMS, automatic induction screenwipers, automatically dimming rear-view mirror, front ventilated / rear solid disc brakes, 3 point pre-tightening safety belts, ISOFIX, safety headrests and other active and passive safety devices. The S5 is equipped with many up-to-date technologies such as ESC, ABS, EBD, TCS, HBA, HAS and HDC which improve operating safety by providing intelligent control when oversteering or understeering.

With passenger comfort in mind, the S5 features IVI, 6 channel speakers, Bluetooth and MP5+GPS+USB+iPod+Aux+FM/AM audio input methods.
