Johnson & Johnson Professional Export is Honored to be Named Winner of the Queen's Award for Enterprise - the UK's Highest Accolade for Business Success
LONDON, April 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
Today, UK-based Johnson & Johnson Professional Export, a division of Johnson & Johnson Medical Ltd, is proud to celebrate the honor of winning the Queen's Award for Enterprise. The award for 'International Trade' was given in recognition of their successful domestic and international strategies which have widened access to their extensive range of medical devices and diagnostic products in emerging markets including Iran, Malta/Gibraltar and Sub-Saharan Africa.
"Our vision is to significantly increase the number of healthcare professionals and ultimately patients who benefit from our advanced medical devices and diagnostic products. By achieving consistent growth we have been able to increase investment in this region, offering the best possible training for healthcare professionals while building valuable partnerships with local organizations, businesses and customers in both the UK and Emerging Markets," said Johnson & Johnson Professional Export Managing Director, Ian Walker.
Johnson & Johnson Professional Export prides itself on being a dynamic, customer-driven organization that operates through 45 distributors in 43 countries. Receiving a prestigious Queen's Award not only acknowledges the company's continued commitment to improving healthcare through Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives in Africa, but its significant investment in training and education.
For example, Johnson & Johnson offers unique local education programs for surgeons in Sub-Saharan Africa, establishing two regional training centres in Ghana and Kenya in partnership with Korle Bu Hospital in Accra and Nairobi University Medical School. Through these facilities, Johnson & Johnson has been able to train in excess of 1,200 healthcare professionals across a range of surgical procedures, enabling expanded access to healthcare for patients in parts of the region that have historically been more challenging to reach.
EMEA Company Group Chairman Sabine Dandiguian said, "Inspired by Our Credo, Johnson & Johnson is working to ensure emerging markets such as Sub-Saharan Africa gain access to the best possible healthcare. We are proud that Johnson & Johnson Professional Export has been awarded such a prestigious accolade to recognize their business and community impact in this region."
As a winner of the Queen's Award for Enterprise, Johnson & Johnson Professional Export will be invited to attend a special reception at Buckingham Palace later this year.
Johnson & Johnson Professional Export, a division of Johnson & Johnson Medical Ltd is based at Kirkton Campus, Livingston, Scotland.
