OAK BROOK, Illinois, Sept. 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Joint Commission International (JCI) announces a new three-day educational quality improvement skills course in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on 14-16 October 2018. The course is developed especially for JCI-accredited health care organizations and those seeking JCI accreditation.
JCI's quality improvement skills course will guide participants through steps of conducting a quality improvement project within their health care organizations. The interactive, educational event provides practical information and essential tools that can be implemented immediately.
"This exciting new course gives our customers what they have been requesting: practical, hands-on training on each of the steps of an improvement project. These quality skills help develop safer processes for patient care, which is ultimately everyone's primary goal," says Kathryn Leonhardt, MD, MPH, CPPS, CPHQ, principal consultant, Quality and Safety Training program, JCI. Leonhardt will lead the JCI quality improvement skills course.
By the end of the three-day event, participants will receive knowledge and tools that allow them to:
- identify process improvement;
- create a project charter and manage change and resistance to the identified project;
- organize and facilitate an improvement team;
- complete a quality improvement process map;
- conduct process analysis; collect, analyze and report data;
- select improvement solutions; and implement, increase and sustain successful results.
In an interactive setting, attendees will work together in groups to complete coursework that strategically blends lectures, discussions and group exercises using evidence-based improvement tools.
In addition to accessing JCI's expert faculty program, participants will also gain access to an electronic event mobile app which includes supporting documents and other resources.
Course participants are eligible for 14.5 Dubai Healthcare City Authority Regulatory (DHCR) Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits for attending the full three-day course (CPD-0228-18).
