Baroness Virginia Bottomley, Chair of Judges said: "This year has seen tough developments across the UK economy so business has to be all the smarter and even more determined to move ahead. We are interested to see how businesses have adapted and developed in order to succeed. We will be looking for leaders who can demonstrate true originality, innovation and tenacity in their field. I'm looking forward to working with the other judges to identify and reward the very best in UK business."
The National Business Awards are distinguished by a robust judging process that begins with an initial shortlist based on a written submission, which is then scored by a panel of judges to determine ten finalists in each category. Finalists are then invited to present live to a panel of judges in London, who will determine an overall winner in each category.
Ruby McGregor-Smith, CEO, MITIE, 2011's Orange Leader of the Year winner said: "As a previous winner, I know that the judging process for the National Business Awards is rigorous - something that validates the whole programme making it fair and winning all the more worthwhile."
"The calibre and breadth of judges involved each year are a reflection of the credibility and prestige of the programme" said Alex Evans, National Business Awards Programme Director, who added: "We would also like to thank the judges for giving up their time to be involved in finding Britain's most exemplary businesses."
Finalists will be announced in August and winners will be revealed at the National Business Awards gala dinner and awards ceremony in London at the Grosvenor House Hotel on the evening of Tuesday 13th November.
