Sky Poker's resident pro shows his poker credentials by winning the online poker room's Double Stack tournament.
Julian Thew, winner of a European Poker Tour title as well as two GUKPT titles, has won one of Sky Poker's premium online poker tournaments after emerging victorious in the Double Stack.
Thew, a poker professional from Nottingham who plays on Sky Poker under the alias of 'YoYo', bested a field of 253 players to win the £1,366.20 first prize. In the heads-up battle he eventually overcame 'sandhu05' to secure his first big tournament win on the site since signing as their resident pro player.
The victory isn't the first taste of success for Thew since joining the site, having final tabled his first ever Sky Poker Tour event in Leeds. He eventually finished in 3rd place for £1,700.
The Double Stack is the regular Wednesday night Main Event on Skypoker.com. If slow structures aren't your poker cup of tea, there are a whole range of tournaments available throughout the week, with the Main Events holding some of the largest prize pools on the site. Hot on the heels of Julian's win in the Double Stack, Sky Poker have also launched the 'Thew's at Ten' tournament, built to the EPT Champion's specification. The double chance format tournament will take place at 2200 GMT every Tuesday night, debuting on 9th August, and players will enjoy a slow structure and the company of one of Britain's best poker talents for just £11.
