Kaspersky Lab Storms up Top Track 250 2016 Leader Board
LONDON, October 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
Kaspersky Lab today announced it has been positioned 25th in this year's Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250, an increase of 24 places from its listing in 2015. This jump up the league table of the UK's leading mid-market private companies is a testament to Kaspersky Lab's impressive sales performance over the past year and the fact it now employs 3,259 people worldwide.
The Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250 league table ranks Britain's private mid-market growth companies. It is compiled by Fast Track and published in The Sunday Times each October, with an awards event in November, and alumni dinners during the year.
Kaspersky Lab's growth has come on the back of a number of significant product launches in the past 12 months, including updates to both Kaspersky Internet Security and Kaspersky Total Security, its flagship security solutions that protect Windows, Mac, and Android users against malware, dangerous sites, online tracking, fraud and money theft. Earlier this year, it also announced Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity, a specialised solution to secure critical infrastructure and industrial facilities and Kaspersky Anti Targeted Attack Platform, a highly sophisticated solution designed to detect targeted attacks.
During the past 12 months, Kaspersky Lab has also cemented itself as the bastion of information security research, revealing in June that the number of users attacked with encryption ransomware is soaring, with 718,536 users hit between April 2015 and March 2016: an increase of 5.5 times compared to the same period in 2014-2015.
400 million customers in 200 countries now use Kaspersky Lab's software to protect computers and mobiles from the latest cyber-security threats. Corporate clients include Ferrari, Interpol and Telefonica.
"The cyber-threat landscape for both consumers and businesses is ever-evolving with the consequences of a breach getting ever more serious and as such it is imperative that we empower our customers to remain one step ahead of the bad guys at all times," said Kirill Slavin, General Manager, UK & Ireland, Kaspersky Lab. "The severity of cyber-threats and the cybercriminals behind them is prevalent every day in the industry and in the press so developing new technologies to outpace these individuals is central to our business priorities. We are extremely proud that this has been recognised and to have climbed up the Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250 league table so significantly."
