Kate Middleton Voted British Mum Parents Trust the Most
LONDON, May 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
Expectant Royal mother, Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, has topped a poll by the recently launched website CarSafetyRules.com, as the mother whose endorsement people would trust most for critical car safety products such as car seats. Although her baby is not due until July, the survey into attitudes to brands and safety revealed that 40% of people already rank Kate Middleton as the British mother they trust most.
The top five most trusted celebrity mothers were ranked with Myleene Klass in second, Victoria Beckham in third, Samantha Cameron in fourth and Katie Price at fifth. Just missing out on a place in the top five was TV presenter Holly Willoughby.
In the survey of 1,000 new car buyers, people with children reported that becoming a parent had made them more interested in car safety. However 69% rated their understanding of the technologies now available as either poor or just average.
Responsible for commissioning the survey, Editor of CarSafetyRules.com, Tristan Honeywill said: "Most new parents just want the safest thing for their family and struggle to tell the difference between all the car seats and technologies on offer. The survey shows that as a parent Kate Middleton would make a great ambassador for road safety campaigns - not just for the UK, but also in places where child safety is an even more serious concern."
As a Range Rover driver, Kate is already well-equipped for parenthood with a car with a five-star safety rating. The luxury off-roader also has technologies that can automatically detect a hazard and brake the car to prevent an accident. It is possible to get similar levels of protection and technology in more affordable cars, but the survey revealed that most car buyers either aren't offered them or don't know what to ask for in dealerships. More informed parents placed accident-prevention technologies such pre-crash alerts and collision avoidance braking top of their wish-list for their next new car.
