Lawrence W. Stranghoener Elected a Director of Aleris International, Inc. and Aleris Holding Company
BEACHWOOD, Ohio, January 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --
Aleris International, Inc. today announced that Lawrence W. Stranghoener, 56, has been elected to its Board of Directors and to the Board of Directors of Aleris Holding Company, Aleris's parent. Aleris Holding Company is majority owned by certain investment funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management, L.P. or their subsidiaries.
Since 2004, Stranghoener has been executive vice president and chief financial officer of Mosaic Company, a $6.7 billion global crop nutrient company. Prior to Mosaic, he was executive vice president and chief financial officer for Thrivent Financial, and before that, for Techies.com. From 1983 to 2000, he held various positions in Finance at Honeywell, including vice president and chief financial officer from 1997 to 1999.

Stranghoener is on the Board of Directors of Kennametal, Inc. He has an M.B.A. from the J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a B.A. from St. Olaf College.
