LONDON, November 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
Africa Pharmaceutical Summit (East) 2016 Press Launch| Tuesday 17 November, 2015 | Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi
The Africa Pharmaceutical Summit (APS) East will launch during an invite only press launch and networking reception on Tuesday 17 November, 2015 from 10.00am - 11.30am at Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi.
The leading international summit and exhibition series for Africa's fast growing pharmaceutical sector is coming to Kenya in 2016, reflecting the country's growing strategic importance as a regional hub for the pharmaceutical industry.
The build-up to the Summit, which is scheduled for 24 - 25 February 2016 at Safari Park Hotel, will start with a launch event hosted by PharmaAfrica. The launch will attract over 100 VIPs and stakeholders from the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry including representatives from Government institutions, development organisations, academia and many more.
Ahead of the press launch, Miles Mudzviti, Founder & CEO of PharmaAfrica, the organisers for APS said, "We are proud to be bringing APS to Kenya in February next year. After a successful partnership in Accra, Ghana in February 2015, we are looking forward to be working once again with the our partners on what is already shaping up to be our biggest APS so far - 80% of the exhibit space has already been reserved."
APS series brings together all major pharmaceutical industry stakeholders -leaders, policy-makers, regulators, academics, investors, scientists and patient representatives, to tackle the most pressing issues the industry is facing.
As Kenya and the wider sub-region, under the East African Community Regional Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Plan for Action (EAC-RPMPoA), move ahead firmly with a defined pharma sector development plan and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) roadmap, East Africa seeks to play an increasingly important role as a regional hub for the pharmaceutical sector. APS East 2016 arrives in Kenya at a pivotal time for the industry.
APS East 2016 has already garnered much interest from key industry players- regional and international. Supported by the Government of Kenya, APS East 2016 will be held alongside the Tablet and Capsule Technology Conference and the Africa Pharmacy Congress. Companies confirmed to participate include Janssen, Merck, BOSCH, Gilead Sciences, GE Healthcare Life Sciences, Janssen, BASF, Amcor and more. The VDMA (Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau, German Engineering Federation) and the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Medicines and Health Products (CCCMHPIE) will lead delegations to the APS (East) 2016.
