Lightpoint Medical Receives £1M Contract from SBRI Healthcare

Lightpoint Medical, a developer of innovative medical imaging technologies for cancer surgery, announced today that the company has received a development contract worth £1M from NHS England. The contract was awarded through the SBRI Healthcare (Small Business Research Initiative for Healthcare) program.
Lightpoint Medical has developed a ground-breaking approach to tissue diagnosis during cancer surgery, enabling surgeons to perform more conservative surgery while potentially reducing the risk of recurrence or re-operation. The SBRI Healthcare contract will finance the development of the company's EnLight™ device, a hand-held fibre-optic camera scheduled for market launch in 2016.
