Another Guinness Record Breaking Environment Initiative to be Organised in Ladakh
Live to Love, the humanitarian organisation founded by India-born spiritual guru, His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa, today reaffirmed its commitment towards the environment. Live to Love country outfits across the globe - Bhutan, France, Germany, Malaysia, Mexico, Nepal, Peru, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Vietnam, UK, and USA joined hands with India to organise various environment related activities including tree plantation, cleanliness drive, spreading the message about eco-friendliness, etc.

Live to Love announced the schedule of its next Pad Yatra to the extremely beautiful and refreshing island country of Sri Lanka. The Pad Yatra is scheduled to start from Colombo in Sri Lanka on 10th December 2012, and will spread the message of love, commitment and responsibility towards the environment. This would be the 6th Pad Yatra by His Holiness as part of his initiative towards protection and preservation of the environment. Live to Love also took the opportunity to announce its next environment initiative. In an effort to draw further attention towards creating sustainable activities, Live to Love, under the stewardship of His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa will undertake another massive tree plantation drive in the extremely harsh climatic region of Ladakh, on 29th October 2012. They will undertake to break their own Guinness record of planting over a million trees set by the organisation in October 2010.
Young Drukpa Association (YDA) of Ladakh in collaboration with Live to Love International also observed World Environment Day at Hemis Monastery, Ladakh. As part of the activities, His Eminence Kyabje Drukpa Choegon Rinpoche Tenzin Chokyi Gyatso will give a talk on the importance of living an eco-friendly life. In addition, to put the environmental initiative into action, a clean-up drive by 700 monastics and lay volunteers within 10km radius of Hemis Monastery was also undertaken. This was followed by a screening a film on climate change
Towards the end of June, the world renowned Hemis Festival will also be jointly organised by the Drukpa Lineage and Live to Love at Ladakh, India, which is the biggest Buddhist festival in the region and a designated public holiday in Ladakh.
