Over 300 votes determine London's top 15 nurses and midwives, at the Pulse Nursing agency awards ceremony hosted at the Royal College of Surgeon's
Nurse of the year, rising star and long service achievement award were just a few of the 15 awards handed out to acknowledge the performance of Pulse's most highly regarded nurses and midwives at the first Pulse London Nursing Awards 2014 event. All 300 nominations were entered by the nurses and midwives colleagues or clients, by email or social media, with winners being chosen by the judging panel from the nominations received.

Marcella Pergande, MD of Pulse London Nursing and awards host said, "We wanted to create a platform to appropriately acknowledge the exceptional levels of compassionate care provided by our nurses and midwives and honour the enormous contribution these individual make on a daily basis, as well as the commitment and loyalty they've shown us and their profession over the years."
The evening's winners voted as exceeding expectations within their field, were: Jennifer Tyndale, Gemma Sampson, Dorcas Laungani, Justine Symons, Greg Hays, Hellen Chipudhla, Sarah Piper, Deirdre Hawkins, Carli Baldacchino, Kate Talbot, Julie Logan, Sharon Looney, Kylie Langridge, Sarah Corder and Val Lloyd.
Winner of the Long Service award, Val Lloyd, who's been with Pulse for over 12 years, commented, "Agency workers don't often receive much appreciation.
