The Race Across America (RAAM) is the hardest race of the world. From June 15th - 25th 2011, only the world's best and most extreme cyclists can participate. 4,900 kilometres from the U.S. West Coast to the East Coast through 14 states in 10 days, a route with 30,000 metres in height, up to 23 hours per day non-stop on the bike, one to two hours of sleep per day and temperatures that may fluctuate from 45degreesC scorching heat in the desert to 0degreesC in the Rocky Mountains - one can presume why this race is not only the ultimate challenge, but also a life dream and myth among the extreme professional athletes.
Christoph Strasser, Ultra Bike Marathon World Champion 2007 and 2010 dedicated himself wholeheartedly to top physical performance and now also to the charity spirit. This time he races as the Lyoness Child & Family Foundation ambassador. In line with the Foundation's philosophy, such a race can only be conquered with the help of a team; likewise projects to improve the quality of life can only be implemented with the support of the community.
Hence, many ways to follow and support Christian live at the race were created. A live GPS transmission is available on the Foundation's website at http://www.lyonessfoundation.org, so one can be close to the action. With Twitter, Facebook and YouTube one can experience the race with Christopher Strasser, how he challenges his body's limits and despite sleep deprivation and overexertion he mobilizes the remaining energy he has.

Lyoness Child & Family Foundation
Very much in line with the founding idea of Lyoness, to be strong in the community, the Lyoness Child & Family Foundation was created in 2008 with the slogan "Preserving life through education" to support national and international educational projects. A percentage of each purchase made through the Lyoness system goes automatically to this foundation. Each social project has the ultimate goal of creating opportunities for children and young people in impoverished countries around the world through educational initiatives.
