MBNA and Miles & More Jointly Launch New Credit Card Account
CHESTER, England, November 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --
Two Cards. More Miles.
In conjunction with MBNA, Miles & More - the leading European frequent flyer programme - this week launches the new Miles & More Credit Card Account for customers in the UK.
The new Miles & More Credit Card Account offers new customers two contactless-enabled cards on their accounts, one American Express-branded credit card and one Visa credit card.
New customers will still have just one account and one credit limit; however, the Miles & More Credit Card Account expands customers' opportunities to build a greater number of award miles even faster when they spend almost anywhere in the world.
Once accepted, new customers signing up to the new account will receive 1,500 award miles as a welcome bonus, as long as they make a card purchase within the first 90 days of opening the account.
In addition, customers will receive two award miles for every £1 spent on card purchases on The Miles & More American Express® Credit Card from MBNA and one award mile for every £1 spent on The Miles & More Visa Credit Card for the first six months from the date the account is opened.
After the first six months, new customers will earn 1.5 award miles for every £1 spent with their Miles & More American Express® Credit Card, or 1.5 award miles for every £2 spent with their Miles & MoreVisa Credit Card.
The cards offer 0% on all card purchases for three months from the date the account is opened and 0% on balance and money transfers for the first 12 months, as long as they are made within 90 days of the account opening date (a 3% handling fee applies to both).
The cards have a representative rate of 16.9% APR (variable) and no annual fee.
Matt Boss, Product and Marketing Executive for MBNA, said: "The innovative approach we have taken with this new credit card account allows customers to earn award miles when they spend almost anywhere in the world. Every time a customer spends on one of their Miles & More credit cards they are building up award miles. By giving them two credit cards, we are enabling them to do this more quickly.
"Together, MBNA and Miles & More are opening up the opportunities for new customers to maximise the value of the rewards on their credit cards and we are delighted to have teamed up with Miles & More to develop a product that provides real added value for customers."
