- A strategic move for the brand within Dentsu Aegis Network in Latin America.
NEW YORK, June 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- mcgarrybowen, the award-winning, Dentsu Aegis Network creative agency, today announced the launch of a new office in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Named mcgarrybowen Sao Paulo, the new office will join mcgarrybowen's global footprint, which includes powerhouse creative hubs in New York, Chicago, London, Dusseldorf, and Shanghai.
The move is part of the strategic initiative by Dentsu Aegis Network to invest in and build its key agency brands globally. As such, mcgarrybowen Sao Paulo brings together two powerful, award-winning businesses – mcgarrybowen and AGE Isobar – whose shared philosophy is to create iconic advertising campaigns based on big organizing ideas that build business.
mcgarrybowen Sao Paulo will be headed by AGE Isobar Founder, President, and Chief Creative Officer Carlos Domingos. It will continue to deliver local and global clients award-winning, leading, holistic solutions.
In 1999, Domingos and two of his friends left their jobs at some of Brazil's biggest agencies to launch AGE, which was acquired by Aegis in 2008 and renamed AGE Isobar. Since its founding, AGE Isobar has earned a reputation for delivering innovative, integrated, and effective ideas, with a roster of clients spanning adidas, British Airways, TNT, PwC and local brands such as Bradesco, one of the country's largest banks. Its work for Camp Nectar, a Brazilian juice company, won five Lions including one Gold at the 2012 Cannes Festival.
"Opening in Sao Paulo is a critical and terrific next chapter for us" said Gordon Bowen, Founder, Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of mcgarrybowen. "Brazil is an incredible market—it's a worldwide hotspot for creativity, talent, and innovation, and I'm thrilled to welcome this talented offering to our family and extend new reach to our clients around the world."
Said Carlos Domingos: "It has been wonderful getting to know Gordon and his team, and it's great to have a business partner who 'gets it.' Both mcgarrybowen and AGE have a shared culture —one that is talent-rich and wholeheartedly believes in delivering clients silo-free, holistic solutions. We are thrilled to join this wonderful agency family!"
Nigel Morris, CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network Americas & EMEA said: "Brazil is a high priority market for us, driven by exceptional talent. With our continuing growth, the coming together with Dentsu and recent acquisitions, now is the right time to realign our businesses so we continue to deliver the best solutions for our clients. We look forward to the next chapter in the development of mcgarrybowen in Brazil."
