Mediclinic Healthcare Management Conference Discusses Innovation as a Driver of Sustainability in the UAE Healthcare System

The Mediclinic Healthcare Management Conference, organised by Mediclinic Middle East, took place yesterday at the Address Hotel, Dubai Marina and saw the attendance of 250 executives from across the UAE's rapidly developing healthcare sector.

Following opening remarks from David Hadley, CEO of Mediclinic Middle East, the conference heard from a wide range of renowned industry experts about different ways in which innovation can drive sustainability within healthcare in the UAE. Among the distinguished conference faculty were Dr Haidar Al Yousuf, Director - Health Funding, Dubai Health Authority, who spoke about innovation and Dubai's future healthcare system, Dr Amer Sharif, Chief Executive Officer, Dubai Healthcare City Authority - Education Sector, who presented the benefits of public-private partnership such as that of Mohammed Bin Rashid University with Mediclinic on the UAE's organ transplant programme, Daniel Whitehead, Director - Medical Strategy, National Health Insurance Company - Daman, who discussed how changing behaviours can drive sustainability in the industry and Linda Clark, Chief Executive Officer - Corniche Hospital, who asserted the importance of maintaining both efficiency and quality within healthcare and showed real-life examples of how that can be achieved.
Other topics presented and discussed included value-based healthcare, a patient's personal view of the current healthcare system, how to use data to improve the patient experience and driving wellness through health promotion. The conference concluded with a panel discussion about how to achieve a more sustainable healthcare system.
The conference is accredited by the Dubai Healthcare City Authority - Regulatory for 6.25 management credits.
