The study deciphers the most effective channel mix across the US, Japan, China and India, as well as identifies those companies perceived to be leaders by HCPs themselves.

"Doctors just don't have the time anymore. Tremendous focus on delivering better health outcomes leaves very little time to spend with the reps. In addition, physician access has changed and doctors expect a better digital experience," said Sanjay Virmani, EVP - Indegene.
The study surveyed over 1600+ doctors of which 85% had over 10 years of experience. 67% of doctors surveyed were specialists. Across markets, HCPs predominately preferred face-to-face interactions, online-detailing, and email. In China, HCPs are 2 times more inclined to online-detailing compared to rep detailing. The US and Japan, were found to be significantly ahead of the curve with regard to using digital to engage their patients. Doctors in China and India seemed comfortable with more than 2-3 text messages and 4 emails in a month, whereas in the US, doctors want face to face, online, app, text and websites detailing once a month.
"Merck, Pfizer and AstraZeneca were seen ahead of the curve in digital engagement with doctors worldwide. GSK, Abbott, Novartis and Sanofi were mentioned for their notable performance on the digital scale," added Virmani.
