Misr University for Science and Technology, established 1996 in Egypt, with 12 colleges and 17,000 students of different nationalities, inaugurates the college of Special Education, a pioneer college that aims at qualifying students who wish to have an effective contribution in offering solutions for social and economic issues in the Arab world.

Moreover, the college of special education will provide teachers and professionals to be able to work in different national/private academic sectors and civil society organizations.
Graduates of the college of Special Education will help people with special needs to be mainstreamed, included within the community, qualified for practical life, and to fulfill effective contribution in their social environment. The college aims to offer educational, psychological, and academic preparation in any of the majors offered to obtain Bachelor degree of Special Education in one of the following majors:
- Mental Retardation
- Visual and Auditory Disabilities
- Emotional and Behavioral Disorder
- Giftedness and Learning Disabilities
- Physical and Motor Disabilities
In order to join the college, students must have Egyptian Certificate of General Secondary School Education or any equivalent certificate, and to pass the admission tests that qualify the applicant to proceed with the requirements to teach students with Special Needs.
The college follows the credit hour system which allows the students to choose between various subjects with the help of his/her academic counselor. Furthermore, the college applies the curriculum of the American Council for Special Needs as an international rule for special education teachers that qualify the students to work either in Egypt or Arab, European, and American countries.
