ORLANDO, Florida, March 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
One of the largest Medicaid health plans in the U.S. looks to Elsevier's MEDai to help control costs, coordinate care and improve the health of its member population
Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, today announced successful implementation of a three-year analytics software licensing contract with Molina Healthcare, Inc., of Long Beach, CA. Molina Healthcare, a Fortune 500 company, is a leader in providing quality healthcare for financially vulnerable individuals and families.
Molina Healthcare selected Elsevier's MEDai Navigator, which will help Molina manage its Medicaid populations across nine states, totaling more than 1.8 million people. Predictive and clinical analytics will be an essential tool to create targeted programs to help identify high-risk members, track healthcare metrics against benchmarks, and provide care managers with access to current clinical and financial data.
"We believe that Elsevier's analytic solutions will support our focus on member and clinician engagements and improve measurement and quality of care for our members," said Richard Sanchez, MD, Chief Medical Officer, Molina Healthcare. "We need a comprehensive, reliable solution and are confident we have found it with MEDai Navigator."
MEDai Navigator is able to analyze Molina's Medicaid population state-by-state and perform mapping, formatting and intelligent data clean-up and analytic modeling. Molina chose MEDai Navigator because of its ease-of-use, reliability and transparency of risk predictions, integration of evidence-based medicine guidelines, and the speed and thoroughness of solution implementation.
"We are pleased to be working with Molina and assisting them in turning membership data into actionable information that can be used to improve quality, deliver better outcomes in care and reduce costs through analytical modeling," said Peter Edelstein, M.D., Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for Elsevier's MEDai. "Both Molina Healthcare and Elsevier believe that this relationship translates into better health care for the many members managed by Molina."
