Movianto Day: Teammates Take Social Responsibility by Supporting Their Local Communities Throughout Europe
STUTTGART, Germany, July 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
Movianto, the leading European pharmaceutical and healthcare logistics provider, once again proved its commitment to the community by volunteering support in a series of project throughout Europe.
Dedicated to healthcare logistics and dedicated to making a difference to the community, the Movianto Day allows the team at Movianto to spend time working on selected social projects. Acting as one and providing hands-on support, the Movianto Day not only provides essential help where it is needed, but allows the team throughout Europe to demonstrate the most important resources it has: the talent and passion to get things done within the time and with the resources available.
As an integral part of Movianto's overall CSR strategy, the Movianto Day also enables the teammates to take on social responsibility and enjoy the privilege of getting to know a few of the people involved in valuable projects in their regions.
The Movianto Head Office, based in Stuttgart, Germany, supported a number of projects, some of them arranged by the volunteer centre "Caleidoskop". One project, for example, was to provide support at a local rehabilitation centre. As a healthcare logistics company providing secure warehousing space for controlled narcotics, the subject of a safe handling of drugs is close to Movianto's heart. Movianto teammates were therefore eager to help out at the "Haus im Süden", an adaption facility for adult drug-addicts. Patients, who have completed their withdrawal treatments at specialised clinics, can continue their treatment here. The facility has 16 places and offers an adaption phase as the second and last step of medical rehabilitation. This halfway house is for those adults who need support between the detoxification treatment in the clinic and before beginning a drug-free life in society.
Robert Siegel, CFO of the Movianto Group, states: "It is a valuable experience for "office people" such as me to support a project that is very different from our daily work. Gardening in the adaption facility for drug-abused adults and talking with the patients about their daily challenges, certainly grounds you once again. You can see how other people cope with their lives so very different from your own. And of course, it feels good to see how easily you can help - with the project and by being interested in their lives".
Thomas Weidle, "Haus im Süden, Caritas", commented: "We are deeply impressed by the strong commitment of the Movianto team. They worked hand in hand with our patients and really achieved a lot on that one day!"
With the headquarters in Stuttgart and the subsidiary in Neunkirchen participating in various projects, the teams in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Spain also got involved in local social initiatives. The company has therefore set a positive sign in regards to volunteering social engagement. The concept of Movianto Day is to be carried out within the whole Movianto Group. Movianto in Benelux, Denmark and the UK will follow by donating their time to make a difference and improve the life of local communities.
The projects are as interesting as they are varied, once again showing that the Movianto team provides support where it is needed most - regardless of whether the project is a big or small one.
