NHN Japan to Hold Conference 'Hello Friends in Tokyo 2012' for Free-Calling and Messaging App "LINE"
TOKYO, June 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- NHN Japan Corp. announced on June 14 that it will hold a conference on July 3 regarding its free-calling and free-messaging app "LINE" at Shibuya Hikarie Hall (Tokyo, Japan). At the conference, titled 'Hello, Friends in Tokyo 2012', NHN Japan will give details about increasing the commercialization of LINE's services through the development of its platform integration, as well as its vision of LINE's future.
Since the launch of LINE on June 23, 2011, this communication app has proven popular both in Japan as well as in the Middle Eastern and East Asian regions and is currently used in over 230 countries. On June 6, 2012, in a little over 11 months since the launch of the service, the total number of registered users exceeded 40 million worldwide with 18 million in Japan. To mark LINE's first year of service on June 23, NHN Japan has decided to hold this conference to announce its strong commitment to further develop LINE as a platform for other services, and introduce its business strategy, new services and new business partnerships.
A live worldwide broadcast of this conference will be held in English and Japanese.
