With Magic Grip, KAHLA is heralding a new era in functional porcelain
Trendsetter KAHLA is again leading the way in this sector. With Magic Grip technology, the brand is introducing an innovation that improves the performance of porcelain in many ways. The integrated silicon base provides slip resistance, dampens noise and protects sensitive surfaces from scratches. The special feature of Magic Grip is that it is an intrinsic part of the dishes, making it dishwasher safe, hygienic and food safe. Magic Grip is featured in black to mark oven-safe baking dishes and casserole dishes. The innovation remains discreetly in the background on all other items, such as plates, cups or bowls, where the silicon application is transparent and virtually invisible.

Two ranges for kitchen and table
KAHLA is launching its innovation onto the market in the form of two different ranges: Magic Grip - Kitchen comprises porcelain items for cooking, baking and food preparation from the Five Senses and Update collections. This range of products made from robust hard-paste porcelain includes, for example, jugs, salad bowls, sauce boats and dip bowls as well as baking, casserole, soufflé and gratin dishes. All of these items are much easier to handle while kneading, stirring and serving.
Magic Grip - Table includes the full Dîner fine porcelain range. It makes serving easier for staff in the hotel and restaurant sector. What's more, guests at a buffet will also now find it easier to balance small bowls and dishes. In ship dining rooms and on deck, Magic Grip - Table can withstand even heavy seas. And it goes without saying that this slip resistance is also an advantage on other means of transport, such as aeroplanes and trains.
KAHLA is THE designer-brand amongst German porcelain manufacturers. This is proven by the award of 80 international prizes for product design. The Kahla porcelain works, based in Thuringia, was founded in 1844 and since 1994 it has been in family ownership, employing around 300 staff. Its offering includes household and hotel porcelain as well as "made in Germany" promotional gifts. Manufacture follows the strictest ecological considerations.
