LONDON, Aug. 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) has announced the appointment of Nick Hopkinson to director of cyber strategy in the U.K. This key leadership role is aimed at enhancing the company's intelligence-related business and strengthening the European footprint for technologies and capabilities vital to national security.

Hopkinson will be responsible for developing strategies and leading strategic campaigns across Europe that will build on Northrop Grumman's full-spectrum cyber expertise, including a broad range of offerings for synchronised and integrated kinetic/non-kinetic mission operations, protection, intelligence, and active response across the entire electromagnetic and digital spectrums.

Hopkinson has more than 30 years' experience in the cyber, intelligence and information technology environment for both industry and government. He joins Northrop Grumman after four years at IT services provider CSC where he was responsible for leading their security business in Europe and more recently, CSC's global internal cyber security. Prior to that, he spent more than 25 years at Government Communications Headquarters serving in a variety of strategy, delivery and operations roles including as director for Special Programmes, delivering large-scale, complex change programmes and as chief information officer for IT services, delivering new capabilities and modernising IT infrastructures. Most recently, he was director general for Information Security and Assurance.
Hopkinson has a master's degree from the University of Cambridge.
