NTT Communications Positioned as a "Leader" in Gartner 2014 Report: "Magic Quadrant for Global Network Service Providers"
TOKYO, March 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com; http://www.ntt.com/), a data, cloud and international communications leader within the NTT (NYSE: NTT) Group, announced on March 28 it has been positioned in the Leaders quadrant of the "Magic Quadrant for Global Network Service Providers" (Magic Quadrant) report (*1) published by Gartner Inc. on March 20. NTT Com was evaluated for the completeness of its vision and its execution capabilities.
Gartner's Magic Quadrant report evaluates service providers for the completeness of their vision and their ability to execute those visions. According to Gartner, "Leaders have a full portfolio of voice and data products, coupled with above-average service and support, wide global coverage, and competitive pricing. They have a strong vision that includes adopting more information and communication technology (ICT) capabilities, which is a strategy they articulate clearly and openly."

NTT Com's recent initiatives include the acquisition of Virtela Technology Services Incorporated (Virtela), a leading global managed and cloud network services company based in Denver, Colorado, USA. The combination of NTT Com's high-quality service and Virtela's advanced, highly efficient operational know-how, as well as the expansion of service availability, is allowing NTT Com to offer high-quality Internet services through access lines enabled by Virtela's globally standardized service provision structure. In addition, from the second half of the current fiscal year, NTT Com will begin providing cloud-based managed security services utilizing network function virtualization technology to virtualize the functions of customers' network equipment.
