Number Portability Event to Present Operator and Regulator Case Studies From Bharti Airtel, DTAC, Cable & Wireless and MCA
LONDON, April 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- As many countries prepare for Number Portability roll-out, Telecoms IQ's Number Portability event (http://www.numberportabilityevent.com) will feature global operator and regulator case studies from countries at differing stages of implementation, including India, Malta, The Channel Islands and The Netherlands. Surender Singroha from Bharti Airtel said "Number Portability is a terrific opportunity to learn best practice on regulatory affairs and benefit from the experiences of countries that have implemented Number Portability".
Number Portability (http://www.numberportabilityevent.com) will outline how to set realistic timeframes for NP roll-out, provide insight into effective regulator-operator collaboration and explore how to minimise porting times to optimise the customer experience.
In an interview with Telecoms IQ, Philip Micallef from Malta Communications Authority suggests that the operators' contribution towards effective Number Portability implementation is crucial. "From our experience in Malta, it is apparent that if operators are given the opportunity to share their views and know that their recommendations will be taken into consideration, they will be more than willing to contribute."
