NXP Software Introduces Secure and Easy Premium Video Content Downloading
EINDHOVEN, The Netherlands, February 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --
- NXP Software's new LifeVibes QuickPlayer 3.0 Automatically Acquires Licenses for Video Content Protected With Microsoft PlayReady(R) Technology and Enables High-Quality Viewing Experiences on Mobile Devices
At Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2011 NXP Software will introduce its LifeVibes QuickPlayer 3.0. This new software, developed for Android devices, simplifies downloading of premium video content encrypted with Microsoft's PlayReady(R) content access and protection technology. QuickPlayer 3.0 downloads video content intelligently, detecting when a consumer is trying to play content which requires a license and guiding them through the license acquisition process before it starts playing back the content. QuickPlayer also offers a high quality viewing experience with sharp, smooth images; full-frame display; faultless lip sync and support for both H.264 and WMV encoded videos.
"With the growth of smartphones and tablets and expansion of LTE networks, everything is in place to support multi-screen business models and premium video content viewing on mobile. But the quality of the experience will be key," says Peter Van de Berg, Marketing Director, NXP Software. "QuickPlayer 3.0 makes accessing premium content protected with Microsoft PlayReady(R) on mobile devices quick and easy. And service providers and content owners can be sure their content - like movies, TV shows and live performances - is secured."
The premium video content market on smartphones and tablets is expected to grow significantly in the coming years. NXP Software's QuickPlayer 3.0 is designed to allow video service and content providers to offer consumers a hassle-free way to enjoy such content in living-room quality. It can be provided to consumers as a download from a store or server.
