Only one in Eighty Offices Celebrating the Royal Wedding
LONDON, April 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Royal Wedding hasn't quite taken the nation's offices by storm, according to a recent survey conducted by office design company Maris Interiors. Of the 316 workplaces contacted, only four are planning any 'Wills and Kate' decorations.
Whilst a few firms are planning some small office decorations, a furniture company based in the Thames Valley is taking the event extremely seriously. Furniture Solutions Limited in Farnham, Surrey have already decked out their offices with bunting and Union Jack flags.
They have even given all 30 of their staff an extra three days of holiday in April to celebrate, and are inviting neighbouring businesses to a street party outside their offices. Sales Director Ben Martin says, "It's going to be such an amazing day - it's the wedding of our future King! Why wouldn't we celebrate?"
But with over 98% of workplaces not doing anything at all to mark the event, it seems that most employees are happy just with the extra Bank Holiday.
