LONDON, Oct. 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- From Velocity Europe, Opscode®, the leader in cloud infrastructure automation, today announced the launch of operations in EMEA to meet rapidly growing demand for infrastructure automation in the cloud and the enterprise data center. Based in London, Opscode's new EMEA operations will be driven by Andy Hawkins, Technical Director, Opscode UK.
Opscode today revealed that creative communications firm Imagination and innovative software provider Digital Science (see separate releases) are among nearly 50 European companies that have deployed Opscode Hosted Chef™ for everything from configuration management to continuous delivery of infrastructure and applications.

Hawkins previously served as Consulting Architect at VCE, the leading infrastructure platform provider formed by a partnership between Cisco and EMC. Prior to VCE, Hawkins held technical and sales positions at Aster Data Systems, HP and Opsware, prior to its acquisition by HP.
