Cambium Networks' ePMP line of wireless equipment has proven to be an extremely reliable platform for delivering triple play services. Other products Orion considered did not meet ePMP's advanced scalability, quality of service and reliability, benefits due in part to the platform's GPS sync capabilities. With ePMP successfully integrated into its network infrastructure, Orion can now offer its IPTV solution to current customers and reach new markets. Through the addition of IPTV to its portfolio, Orion becomes the first provider in Serbia to offer triple play services.
"In six months, we deployed 4,000 ePMP subscriber modules. What we were able to accomplish in half a year with Cambium Networks engineers assisting with network design, integration and optimization exceeded our expectations," said Slobodan Djinovic, CEO, Orion Telekom. "We look forward to future milestones with Cambium Networks as we leverage its equipment to boost network performance and throughput, satisfy our current customers and increase our market share."
Orion Telekom was founded in Serbia in 2010 and currently has over 100,000 customers. Through organic growth and consolidation and acquisition of 18 Internet service providers, Orion has become the largest alternative fixed-line telecommunications company in Serbia and one of the largest in Central and Eastern Europe. It also operates an extensive fiber network in the country, covering 521 kilometers of fiber in Serbia's top three cities: Belgrade, Nis and Novi Sad.
"Partnering with leading providers such as Orion Telekom helps us build stronger, more reliable platforms that empower service providers to succeed in their markets," said Martin de la Serna, vice president sales, EMEA, Cambium Networks. "We look forward to continued success with Orion and helping other operators realize their business goals."
ePMP™, PTP 650 and PMP 450 will all be exhibited at Cambium Networks' booth (Hall 7, Stand #7B41) at Mobile World Congress, March 2-5, 2015.
