Participants of the Eurasian Week Discuss the Possibilities of Integration and Development of Business in the EAEU

The International forum devoted to the development of economy, export and investment capacity of the member states of the EAEU took place on August 24-26 at the venue of the International Specialized Exhibition Astana EXPO 2017.
Representatives of state authorities from 42 countries took part in the Eurasian Week in Astana. As part of the forum, over 30 discussions were held on the topics that are strategically significant for the common market of the EAEU.
In his opening address Bakytzhan Sagintaev, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, expressed his confidence that the forum would become an important instrument of developing the investment and export capacity of the EAEU countries and will also contribute to establishing new business contacts and deepening the relationships between the civil sector and the business community.
In addition, B. Sagintayev noted that the beginning of the current year has been marked by positive growth dynamics of main indicators: the volume of foreign trade of the countries of the Union increased by nearly 28% in the first half of the year, and GDP growth in the EAEU amounted to 0.8% during the first quarter of 2017.
Among the main issues for discussion at the Eurasian Week were the development of digital economy in the EAEU, technology transfer within the Union, cooperation in the sphere of labor migration, new approaches to customs regulation and improvement of investment attractiveness.
