Pearce Urges FA to Stick With English Boss for Three Lions

MANCHESTER, England, July 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --

Stuart Pearce has praised Glenn Hoddle as "outstanding" after urging the FA to stick with an English manager for the national team.

The Three Lions legend, who is the outspoken Euro 2016 pundit for bookie Betfred, is not ruling out a dramatic return for the former England coach currently working as an ITV co-commentator in France to succeed Roy Hodgson.

Betfred have German Jurgen Klinsmann 4/1 favourite to be the next permanent England manager with Hoddle 7/1 and of the other English managers Sam Allardyce is 8/1,Gareth Southgate 10/1 with Eddie Howe 14/1 and Alan Pardew 18/1.

Pearce said, "We stumble into these tournaments with no idea who will take over, in this case if Roy Hodgson was not successful. There was talk of Gary Neville being the successor, but where has that gone?"

"A junior takes over from a senior underneath him, that is the way most organisations work, promoting from within. You need someone trained up. Glenn Hoddle has been mentioned and he's an outstanding coach but really something should have been in place."

Although England have exited Euro 2016 Stuart Pearce is still giving his thoughts on the rest of the matches for Betfred TV.
