Persil have released a guide that helps pancake-lovers remove all traces of their Shrove Tuesday feast.
The new Pancake Day activity sheet, which is available to download from the Persil website, shows families how to make the perfect pancakes in an easy, kid-friendly recipe. Rather than leaving parents to do the clean-up afterwards, Persil also explains how to tackle messy stains made during Pancake Day preparations.
With keen cooks favouring sticking pancake toppings such as ice cream and maple syrup, more than a few families will be left struggling to remove the evidence from clothes and furniture over the next few days.
Persil offers stain removal tips for several popular Pancake Day treats. One of the worst offenders is chocolate, which can often leave permanent marks in lighter fabrics. Persil recommends popping the offending article in a plastic bag, and then leaving it in the fridge to cool overnight. It may sound strange, but once the chocolate has chilled and hardened, it becomes much easier to remove. After scraping any excess chocolate from the garment, your clothes can then be washed as normal.
