Plug and Play Selects Their Winter 2017 Batches
125 startups join Plug and Play's latest programs
SUNNYVALE, California, Sept. 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Plug and Play formally announces the startups accepted into their Winter 2017 batches. Plug and Play will run five programs this quarter focused on Health & Wellness, Insurtech, Internet of Things, Mobility, and Travel & Hospitality. The selection process, different from other accelerator programs, engages Plug and Play's corporate partners by sourcing startups directly related to their focus areas. For these latest cohorts, Plug and Play reviewed over 4,000 startups from around the world, accepting entrepreneurs from Belgium, Canada, China, Germany, India, Israel, Istanbul, Japan, Poland, Switzerland, and the UK. Through the next three months, companies will meet with Plug and Play's network of corporate partners, investors, and mentors. New for Winter 2017, Plug and Play is rolling out monthly Focus Weeks, where startups and partners working remotely will come to Silicon Valley to meet for an exciting week of pitch events, private dealflows, mentor sessions, and corporate office hours. Focus Weeks will connect startups with corporations and expand their opportunity for pilot projects and investment. Corporations will have the chance to dedicate a week working one-on-one with startups to improve their innovation strategy in the heart of Silicon Valley.
