LONDON, May 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
PokerStars has been named the Best Mobile Poker Operator of 2013 at the mGaming Awards organized by iGaming Business, a leading industry media company.
The PokerStars mobile app is a free downloadable version of the leading online poker site. It has been rolling out in markets around the world since February 2012 and is available on iOS and Android devices.
"Poker is one of the most-loved games in the world and in recent years has become one of the most popular online games," said Jeffrey Haas, PokerStars Director of New Platforms. "Our mobile app allows more people to discover the game, while providing more opportunities for existing fans to play wherever they want and whenever they want."
The PokerStars Mobile "App Suite" also includes the PokerStars TV, the PokerStars Clock and the EPT (European Poker Tour) Guide App. Each of these apps have been designed and developed to fit within the ecosystem of products that PokerStars already offers its players, deepening and enriching their experience of consuming poker content, supporting their poker-playing habits.
The PokerStars TV App for example compliments the PokerStars.tv website and gives the ability for its audience to watch their favourite poker shows and to follow LIVE coverage of PokerStars events from wherever they are.
The PokerStars mobile gaming client is a standalone product, in that a player can sign up and deposit on PokerStars without the need to use a desktop computer. However, it also allows players to compete against PokerStars' millions of desktop players.
Over the last year, PokerStars' mobile innovation has led the online poker industry. Key mobile developments include:
- Zoom Cash/Ring Games
- Zoom Tournaments
- Multi-tabling (four tables on phone handset, five tables on tablet)
- Responsible gaming features (setting deposit limits & self-exclusion)
- Shared access to PokerStars' desktop and mobile liquidity
- Access to big online events, including SCOOP, WCOOP
- Advance action buttons
