SETU launches social search tool, Viper announces Siri integration and Toshiba releases new laptop line-up
SETU Systems, an innovative tech start-up based in India, has announced the launch of its Veooz social search tool, allowing users to discover the most talked about topics on a range of social networks, as well as giving them an insight into public opinion.
The free app will analyse data from Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and a number of popular blogs in order to create topics, which a user can then search for and look through the various comments made by users from around the world. The system will also produce a "sentiment" rating, giving an instant overview as to the public's approval or disapproval of a particular topic. Veooz has been designed to introduce order and convenience into the world of social networking, with CEO Dr. Prasad Pingali adding that the app is "a first-of-its-kind free platform".
Viper, a world leading supplier of electronic vehicle protection systems, has released a new version of its Viper SmartStart software, which now comes with the integration of Apple's revolutionary Siri iPhone assistant.
Owners of a Viper protected vehicle will be able to start, lock and unlock their car, simply by asking their iPhone to do so. The company is the first in the world to integrate the innovative system, although a number of high-end car manufacturers are planning similar moves in the near future. The new version of SmartStart software is another step towards Viper's aim of creating a fully interactive and intuitive driving experience, building on a technology that already allows users to control aspects of their vehicle from anywhere in the world. Users must own an iPhone 4S or 5 to access this exciting new feature.
Toshiba, one of the world's foremost manufacturers of consumer electronics, has announced the release of its new range of Windows 8 powered desktops, laptops and ultrabooks, which are due to go on sale on the 26th of October.
The range of new devices will incorporate a number of cutting edge technologies and system improvements, including an enhanced touchpad designed for gesture use, as well as a built in e-book reader and marketplace in order to give owners access to a new method of engaging with digital book content. The Satellite S series is the pick of the new releases, with laptops in this range coming with a top of the range audio system, advanced graphics processors and an optional Blu-Ray DVD player.
