Eurochannel launches in US, SHI selects Intergraph software and ScanLife launches revamped app
Eurochannel, an innovative television network which provides access to European television content, has launched in the US. The company now offers its new "Eurochannel: On Demand" service to cable customers across North America.
The new service aims to provide high-quality, European-focussed content to an untapped American audience, with customers able to choose from a wide range of on-demand TV series, movies and documentaries. Popular titles from countries including Poland, Estonia, Spain and Italy will be made available to rent for 48 hours through Dailymotion, each in their original version with English subtitles. The unique service is available now through the DISH Network, and can be accessed via the Google Play Store by any Android-powered device.
Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI), the Korean heavy-duty ship manufacturer, has announced a new partnership with leading geospatial software providers Intergraph, with a view to implementing its new SmartMarine 3D software in the company's offshore division.
SmartMarine 3D will allow SHI to implement the latest in rule-based spatial technology, providing the manufacturer with the ability to produce a higher volume of complex and technically precise industry-ready vessels in a shorter space of time. The decision by SHI to roll out the software was made after a highly successful trial period, which "delivered a tremendous saving in man-hours over [the company's] traditional design methods".
The software has been widely recognised as an industry-leading offshore ship building package, allowing manufacturers to increase their productivity by an impressive 30 per cent whilst also ensuring a higher level of quality and detail in all products.
ScanLife, a world-leading developer of mobile-based engagement solutions, has launched the new version of its popular mobile application, giving loyal users access to several innovative new features.
Users now have the power to scan QR codes and everyday barcodes from within the ScanLife app, which will then automatically search for the popularity of scanned products with other users and across social networks such as Twitter and Facebook. App users can gain instant access to peer reviews of products and services, share their favourite items with their network of friends, and can even link their favourite scans directly to their Facebook page on iOS. The new app is also available on Android.
