Qubeey launches version 2.0, ViaSat announces military broadband terminals and NQ Mobile featured in global Top 20 app list
Qubeey, an innovative social platform designed to work without traditional web browsers, has announced the launch of version 2.0 of its software, bringing significant user interface improvements and the arrival of a number of high-profile celebrity accounts.
The software allows users to create streams of their favourite content, much like social start-up Pinterest, although these streams can be accessed directly by friends without the use of web browsers. The software creates a direct link between participating devices, allowing users to access content on demand and send personal, interactive messages to friends and followers.
The new version brings real-time action notifications and alerts, giving followers up-to-date information on the personal or business activities of those in their network. According to CEO Rocky Wright, the software lets you "access anyone and any activity within your social or business sites, without checking email or accessing individual websites."
ViaSat, a worldwide manufacturer of secure network communications equipment, has revealed its new VMT-1220P portable broadband terminal, giving participating military organisations access to advanced mobile Internet technology in the field.
The device facilitates a secure 3G mobile connection to ViaSat's worldwide mobile network, giving soldiers and vehicles in the field the ability to connect and stream high-quality video, receive real-time updates and communicate instantly with mission control. Users will also benefit from the ability to make secure and encrypted phone calls using the device, which is said to be extremely lightweight and durable in order to withstand the harshest combat conditions. Speaking after the launch, ViaSat Vice President Larry Taylor added that the new system is "unique: packaging and performance that is ready to go on a worldwide broadband network."
NQ Mobile, a company specialising in mobile Internet security, has seen its NQ Mobile Security app named in the top 20 apps at the prestigious "Global Mobile Internet Conference AppAttack Awards".
The application, which has also been named as one of the top 100 Android apps of 2012, is ideal for security-conscious mobile users, as it is able to detect and destroy mobile viruses whilst also acting as a firewall against any new threats. The innovative app made it into the top 100, before a delegation of app experts awarded it a top 20 place in front of a 5,000-strong audience. CPO Gavin Kim was delighted with the award, stating that the company is "honoured" to be chosen.
