Pandora redesigns popular app, Gameloft launches games for Windows 8 and Marcy releases new publication
Pandora, one of the United States' leading providers of digital radio, has released a completely redesigned version of its popular iOS and Android app, giving users the chance to access digital radio content like never before.
Developers have worked hard to improve both the app's functionality and its user interface, with subscribers able to take advantage of developments in listening functionality and social network integration, putting it one step ahead of the existing competition.
The company's 175 million users will now be able to create their own "Personal Music Profile" consisting of their favourite tracks and artists, whilst also sharing links to their favourite radio stations with friends via Facebook, Twitter and Pandora's own network. According to CEO Joe Kennedy, the new app is the product of "years of innovation and learning" and it "sets a new standard for mobile personalised radio".
After much speculation and excitement from mobile gaming fans, Gameloft has announced the launch of several of its top titles for use on the Windows 8 Phone platform, in a move that is expected to extend the company's market share to become the world leaders in mobile game development.
The company will release 12 games for Microsoft's new platform, which will have the added benefit of compatibility with the existing Xbox network, making it easy for users to challenge friends and see global leaderboards using their mobile device.
Gameloft has made a name for itself as one of the most innovative developers of games exclusively for iOS and Android, having accrued 1.5 million active users a month for its titles. Speaking after the announcement, the company's VP of publishing enthused over the possibilities, stating that the introduction of Windows 8 "is a tremendous opportunity for developers to deliver better apps and games to more markets".
Marcy Design Group, one of the leading web design organisations in the US, has announced the launch of its newest digital magazine title this week, known as "iCool Magazine".
The new magazine has launched in the Apple Store to much fanfare, with users keen to try out its innovative focus on the internet, marketing and design, on a platform that has been designed exclusively for the iPad. iCool will take full advantage of the functionality provided to users through Apple's popular mobile device, including built-in video content and animations, as well as click-throughs to external websites.
