RIVS launches revolutionary app, TagLikeMe racking up visitors and Raspberry PI crosses Atlantic

RIVS, a provider of online human resources tools, has announced the launch of a revolutionary new iOS application that will allow companies of all sizes to streamline and enhance their digital recruitment options.

The free RIVS app works in conjunction with the company's website, giving recruiters the opportunity to file job vacancies, review open positions and even conduct live interviews with potential candidates, all by using an iPhone or iPad. TagLikeMe, an innovative social network start-up based in the UK, has become a major player in the world of social networking overnight, after it revealed that the site had received over 200,000 unique visitors in just four weeks.

The visitors accessed the site during a trial phase, designed to test the public's demand for the site's services, which include the ability to search the Internet and share interesting information with their followers, much like US based Pinterest. The site has managed to set itself apart from the competition by offering a comprehensive and powerful search capability, drawing on results from Google, Bing and Yahoo!, as well as linking in with other popular social sites like Twitter and Facebook.

Social start-ups are traditionally faced with heavy competition from the major players, although initial analysis of the trial has revealed some impressive results, including a highly promising visitor return rate of 12% - the industry standard is just 2%-3%.

The Raspberry PI, a product designed by the Raspberry PI Foundation in London to aid in technological education, has made its debut in a US educational institution, after North Carolina's Charlotte Latin School decided to trial the device in its engineering department.

Students will use the device to advance their understanding of basic computer programming, with the school's engineering teacher, Tom Dubick, enthusing over the students' ability to "get to play and try new ideas" in a sandboxed and affordable environment, with the price for the device currently standing at just $35.
