The "CONNECTED COMMERCE" AREA:INNOVATION SERVING CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE AND NEW WAYS OF DOING BUSINESS
The "Connected Commerce" area, with 200 m2 located near the entrance of Halls 3 and 4, will include eleven exhibitors, both start-ups and international companies, and will present the latest innovations that overturn purchasing experiences at all stages of the customer's path in distribution and payment domains.
It will highlight hands-on solutions that can be shown in concrete, practical, entertaining and interactive demonstrations. This is the opportunity to discover and test the solutions designed by 11 specialized companies, both market leaders and first timers.
THE 11 COMPANIES IN THE "CONNECTED COMMERCE" AREA
Solutions presented by these companies address:
COMMERCE & RETAIL:QUICKLY CHANGING FIELDS...
New consumption and purchasing trends are revolutionizing both commerce and retail. With emergence of new ways of working and new solutions, consumer expectations are changing towards services that are more instantaneous and mobile. All in all, connected commerce meets these new expectations and occupies a larger and larger place in today's economy. For example, in 2013, e-commerce generated a turnover of 1,173,500 billion euros (+13.6%) on a global scale, with 317.9 billion euros (+ 14.7%) in Europe and 51.1 billion euros (+13.6%) in France.[1]
Connected commerce is thus overturning the way consumers shop, as they easily switch from one technology to another. Their approach and ways of shopping are easier and more interactive: they receive geo-localized and personalized ads/promotions, they pay online, by their mobile, in shops, when ordering or at delivery, with their preferred payment mode (card, cash or mobile), and they automatically have discount coupons and manage their loyalty programmes at the same time, using one or several channels simultaneously.
Facing this situation, most commercial brands understand that, in a tense economic context, customers must be "re-delighted" in their shopping experiences, by capitalizing on digital technology, cross-channels and attractiveness of retail outlets. This phenomenon has trickled down into, amongst others, a web-to-store/store-to-web device, and more generally speaking, by more digital technology in retail outlets:
... WHICH REFLECT THE CURRENT REVOLUTION IN THE PAYMENT INDUSTRY
If commerce and distribution are being overturned, the same thing is true for the payment and financial service industry, because of the conjunction and acceleration of several strengths and trends: regulatory changes, multiplication of technologies/channels/monitors, new players in the field including start-ups, pressure on traditional economic models, changes in consumer behaviors and ways of shopping, explosion and value of data, etc.
In this framework, payment offers must change to better be a part of the total shopping experience, reflecting these new ways of doing business, and this must be done before, during and after the actual purchasing act.
Without surprise, in banks and international card systems, the number of players in the payment arena is on the rise, whether they are telecom operators, web titans or simply one of the hoard of start-ups that are launched every day.
