Prevent, Detect, Disarm: Eliminating the IED Threat

The 6th annual Counter-IED event returns to London to unite senior military personnel from the international C-IED community. This year there will be representation from countries including US, UK, Germany, Poland, and New Zealand who will be gathering to discuss the key C- IED issues. This year's event will explore the themes around Attack the Network, Train the Troops and Defeat the Device. Brigadier General Mark Wise, from the US Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory is set to present on the continual battle against improvised explosives devices. Brig. Gen. Wise will also discuss how best to identify and target insurgent network vulnerabilities.
From the UK MoD the Head of Army EOD and Search will give an update on UK C-IED capability and future plans. Identifying the current limitations of a pre-emptive approach to C-IED and how these capabilities are likely to further evolve. Other speakers who will include Colonel Miroslaw Gumola, EOD Team Lead and Co-ordinator, Polish Ministry of Defence; and Thomas Ryan, Senior Intelligence Analyst, US Army.
The 3 day event will analyse the latest techniques and methodologies for using forensics and biometrics to destroy insurgent networks and attack the problem from the root cause. Discussions will also focus on how to utilise collaborative allied efforts to increase success in countering IED networks to enable a pre-emptive approach to dealing with this threat. In addition, the event will also explore the latest techniques both for personnel selection and training to ensure that militaries have the most capable team to deal with any given threat.
As the largest European C-IED event we are please to announce that this year the event will be partnered by both SAAB and Cobham.
