PropertyQuoteDirect Assess the Impact of the Budget
LONDON, September 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
PropertyQuoteDirect has completed a White Paper analysing the impact the 2012 Budget has had on landlords and the rental market. Specifically, they have taken a look at the impact of the "Granny Tax" on UK landlords.
PropertyQuoteDirect, a leading landlord insurance website, based the findings in the White Paper on a survey of 300 UK landlords who were asked a variety of questions related to the 2012 Government Budget.
Joe de Vries, of PropertyQuoteDirect, has summarised the purpose of the White Paper: "With the changes to the Budget this year we thought it'd be great to survey a pool of landlords in order to find out how the changes to the budget has impacted them. The findings were very interesting with different age brackets being impacted in different ways."
The White Paper reveals that 35% of UK landlords feel that the "Granny Tax" will have a negative impact on them. PropertyQuoteDirect also found that the 55+ age group has the highest percentage of landlords that believe the "Granny Tax" will have a negative impact, with 41% of landlords saying so.
The White Paper also takes a look at whether landlords are looking to increase their property portfolios following the Budget, over the course of the 12 months to follow. The majority of landlords surveyed, suggested that they were not interested in doing so.
A correlation was also found between whether landlords have been impacted in a negative way by the Budget and whether they were then going to expand their portfolio. The majority of those feeling like they have been negatively impacted have suggested that they are against increasing their portfolio at present.
In order to find out more about the White Paper's findings, PropertyQuoteDirect have uploaded the White Paper to their website as a downloadable document.
