Qatari Support for the Qatar Construction Summit

In the wake of Qatar's monumental triumph in securing the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the construction industry in Qatar is receiving unprecedented attention from international construction stakeholders from across the value chain looking to break into Qatar's rapidly growing construction industry.
According to Venture Middle East's GCC construction industry facts and figures; the year 2012 is expected to witness a substantial growth in terms of main building contractor awards for the GCC countries combined. Accounting for a lion's share of 52 percent, Saudi Arabia had awarded construction contracts worth US$107,390 million in 2010 followed by UAE with US$ 43,247 million representing a 21 percent share. The respective main contractor award figures for Qatar were US$23,578 million.
With a multitude of projects being announced to work towards Qatar's 2030 National Vision, the Qatar Society of Engineers, Qatar Project Management, the World Safety Organisation and the International Safety Quality Environment Management Association are coming together to endorse the upcoming Qatar Construction Summit which is being officially supported by Qatar's Public Works Authority, Ashghal.
The three day industry led conference will bring together key leaders in Qatar's construction industry to discuss and explore best practice strategies for achieving Qatar's 2030 Vision and ensuring Qatar meets the international standards and requirements necessary to deliver a successful FIFA World Cup.
Key sessions that will be delivered include a keynote address by Ahmed Al Jolo, the Chairman of the Qatar Society of Engineers on positioning Qatar as a strong market for construction growth and project opportunities and an exclusive insight into the planning and delivery of the Lusail masterplan and development by Magdy Youssef, Director of the Lusail Administration Complex.
The three day event will be held from 25 - 27 September at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Doha.
