RADA and Elsewhere Reinvent the Bard for Business
LONDON, February 27, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art has joined forces with Elsewhere, a company specialising in creative and alternative corporate away days, to create a radical and powerful new team building activity.
Shakespeare Will Break You is an exciting venture that reinvents the Bard for business. Two teams are challenged to put on the performance of their lives in just under three hours. An espresso shot of a Shakespeare play, from scratch.
The activity is a groundbreaking format that uses an extraordinary cultural icon in a fresh and innovative way. Taking excerpts from A Midsummer Night's Dream, Henry V and The Tempest, participants are led through a gripping three-hour session that culminates in a live performance.
Delivered by RADA's own tutors, this activity is great for bonding a team together and developing communication and confidence skills. People will come away with a greater sense of creative collaboration, working to a deadline, using play to drive performance, public speaking and physical presence. It's also an opportunity to step behind the magical curtain of the acting profession.
Shakespeare Will Break You is priced competitively at £139 per person.
Bridget Taxy from RADA Enterprises said: "Shakespeare has so much to teach us, his stories and scenes can stretch and inspire teams and leaders everywhere. We're excited to bring this highly unique and powerful business tool to the marketplace. When the worlds of culture and commerce come together, creativity is unleashed and wonderful things happen."
Darren Swayne from Elsewhere said: "Working with RADA has enabled us to co-develop a truly world-class creative product. We're really excited about putting the Bard back into the Boardroom with this activity. It hits our own criteria for approval - namely that we want to go on it ourselves!"

Elsewhere was founded in 2011 by Darren Swayne and Nick Sunderland. After twenty years in the worlds of finance and marketing they decided to establish a company that combined their passions for property, business productivity and people. The idea for Elsewhere was born out of first-hand experience. There are only so many boring corporate off-sites that a reasonable human being can take.
