Raw Material Gets Brixton Buzzing With Raw Sounds Live Event
LONDON, August 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
Raw Material, the music and media charity, hosted an evening of eclectic music to mark the end of their Raw Sounds Mental Health Project. The Raw Sounds Live event was staged at the Raw Material centre in Robsart Street, Brixton on Thursday 1st August and featured a diverse programme, incorporating doo-wop, rock, folk, house, hip-hop and spoken word performances.
The event was a culmination of 10 weeks of music activities, including live band performances, studio recording sessions, DJing, plus film-making and photography linked to the music work. Raw Material's in-house band - FLOetic Lara, Chavez, Tagz and Sublusive - worked with all the musicians involved to produce the evening's fantastic multimedia line-up.
The Raw Sounds project provides creative media sessions for people accessing mental health services and aims to promote mental health well-being through collaboration and expression. Special 'In Reach' sessions on hospital wards are also included in the programme.
