Organized by RISI, in association with the International Forest Products Transport Association (IFPTA), the event focuses on the issues surrounding the worldwide transport, materials handling, and distribution of forest products. This year's conference program will take a look at the challenges and opportunities facing the industry from a regional perspective. Each session will explore the unique situation facing the four corners of the industry, plus a global market overview presentation and a discussion about how the emerging biomass market is impacting the logistics industry.
RISI has negotiated discounted room rates at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore, located on the Inner Harbor and just steps from the Convention Center. The discounted rates are available for a limited time, so attendees are encouraged to book their reservations early.
"One of the greatest benefits we all gain from PPI Transport Symposium is the opportunity to network with key decision makers from all over the world in all sectors of our industry," said Scott Menzies, Symposium Chairman. He continued, "This is the one event that pulls together the broadest cross section of constituents in our industry. The mission of PPI Transport Symposium remains the same – provide a platform for our global industry to network and learn from each other. We intend to hold true to that mission as Baltimore hosts its first Symposium."
Launched in 1974, PPI Transport Symposium is the meeting place for forest products logistics leaders around the world. This will be the first time the Symposium is hosted in the city of Baltimore.
The Symposium sponsors include Cascade, FMS, and V. Alexander. The full conference agenda, list of exhibitors, hotel details, and registration can be found at www.transportsymposium.com.
