DUBLIN, April 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
Amazon is set to expand its same-day delivery service next month by making it available through the company website. Prime Now, currently available through a dedicated smartphone app, offers members free two-hour delivery on all orders. It was launched in New York in 2014 and is now available in over 20 cities, including London, Milan and Tokyo.

The growing penetration of mobile devices has expanded the m-commerce market in the US, enabling the growth of a number of mobile apps and websites. The m-commerce market is expected to increase a further 25.72% in the United States by 2019. But shopping on mobile devices only represents a quarter of all e-commerce and Amazon is looking to attract a larger audience by making the subscription service available through its website.
The retailing giant is also trying to sell advertising space to major brands for the web launch, according to reports. Valued at $500,000, the ad package includes two weeks of placement on the website and email promotions sent to Amazon customers. The company is working hard to attract new customers to the service, which now includes music and video streaming and photo storage.
A report on global e-commerce says Amazon will continue to dominate the market because customers continue to choose its cheap and convenient delivery over other retailers' offerings. It says e-commerce growth is rocketing in emerging markets and even developed markets are displaying double digit growth. The e-commerce logistics market was expected to grow 9.69% during the period 2016-2020, but this growth could be higher than predicted due to Amazon's continued expansion.
